Work begins on I-80, near Utica

Nov. 2, 2026 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin Nov. 12 on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 359.72 to reference post 365.14, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Northwest Asphalt & Maintenance, of Thief River Falls, Minn., is the contractor for this project. Work includes crack sealing on I-80 and Waco overhead bridge. Traffic will be maintained with lane closures.

Anticipated completion is March 2027.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
